To start, I am so honoured to be invited not only once but for the second year around, to attend the Dolce and Gabbana haute couture events. This summer the events were held at Palermo, the capital city of the beautiful Italian island of Sicily. I was so excited about attending this special event again, but even more about visiting Palermo. Although it isn’t a highly advanced or a luxurious city, but the culture and history it has just made it very appealing.
During this week, there were quite a few different events happening everyday, along side with the pop up DG store, bar, and restaurant. After we freshen up from our flight, we thought to visit the DG pop up store. It was located by the port, with a large spacious store, and a Tropical Italian outdoor bar and restaurant. The store not only stocks their latest ready to wear clothes, but also specially made for this summer event outfits as well. One thing I loved from last summer and was looking forward to was the fabric shopping bag you get from any purchase at the pop up store. It is a great little souvenir to remember this trip by.
As we sail out to the waters, we were able to see a whole new side of Palermo. Sailing along the coast and then towards other small island, it truly feels as though nothing else in the world matters, apart from being in the moment. This third event was the core this week revolves around, the Dolce and Gabbana Alta Sartoria Presentation. My mind was blown away during last year’s presentation, thinking it would be hard to pass the mark they had set. Yet, proofing me completely wrong, Dolce and Gabbana was not only able to set the bar higher, but it was way out of my expectation. Simply put, my mind was blown all the way out of the galaxy! The show was set outside at an Italian courtyard, with an extravagant and yet graceful and elegant at the same time. There was also a beautiful cathedral which inspired quite a few pieces for the collection this year. Gold was defiantly one of the main colour this year with many pieces used it generously, but one thing that have caught my eye was the fedora hats. Creating something so common but still able to enhance it to match the theme of the collection was incredible. Of course the show was filled with suits that to me, are basically art itself, but they also created some casual wear that incorporated high fashion element as well. The night was matched with a delicious dinner, which was another event by itself. The dinning décor and the venue was one thing to gush over about, but the dinner guests were another factor that made the night extra special. Imagine walking in to the Louvre and feeling the paint of the Mona Liza on your fingertips, that was somewhat how I felt feeling these masterpieces on my hand. With the showroom taken most of the day, the night was just beginning as we all get ready for the closing party. The theme for the party was "Mr. and Mrs. Elegance", which was shown throughout the venue with lights, fireworks, and delicious treats. There were also great performances from an Italian band, and later with Austin Mahon graced the stage. From being at the show to visiting this historical city, one thing I loved the most was the people. I was able to reconnect with friends that I met last year, connecting with new friends this year, and most of all getting to know the locals. If any of you have to chance to visit Italy, do consider Palermo as an option.
Do let me know in the comment section below what you think of my adventure with Dolce and Gabbana? Would you like to visit Sicily? Whatever you do, and wherever you go, Have a dapper day everyone!

Do you have any advice for guys with very large shoulders ? My hip is relatively narrow in comparison to my shoulders so evertime i try to buy regular (T-)shirts they are rather tight around my chest and very loose around my belly which looks dumb

Wow. I'm definitely noting down the name of this hotel. I think I'll book it for my company staff for the upcoming summer vacation I promised them. Thanks for sharing and hope you enjoyed the event.
